Investing in the Next Generation of Healthcare Workers

Willamette Valley Medical Center’s Volunteer Guild is an integral part of both the community and the hospital family. For the past 20 years, the Guild Volunteers have awarded scholarships to residents of Yamhill County who are pursuing a career in health care. These scholarships are funded through donations and the proceeds from the Guild’s Gift Shop, which is a non-profit organization and operated by the volunteers, located in the hospital.

For the academic year 2024-25, the Guild awarded a total of $22,000 in scholarships. These funds were distributed to the following students:

Margaret Bowman – McMinnville, for Georgia Tech, Psychology/Psychiatry

Abigal Eitzen – McMinnville, for Linfield University, Nursing

Kya Ellis – Yamhill, for Linfield University, Nursing/PICU/NICU Nurse

Dominique Eszenyi - Yamhill County, for Point Loma Nazarene University, Applied Health Science/Physician Assistant

Allan Fernandez – Lafayette, for Linfield University, Chemistry/Psychology/Pediatrician

Siena Garstka – Newberg, for University of Montana, Integrative Physiology/Physician Asst.

McKenna Graham – McMinnville, for University of Arizona, Nursing

Hadleigh Heller – McMinnville, for Villanova University, Nursing

Isabella Herboldt – Newberg, for George Fox University, Nursing

Valeria Martinez – McMinnville, for Linfield University, Nursing

Ellie McMullen – Amity, for Oregon Institute of Technology, Echocardiography

Malachi Muthiah – Newberg, for Westmont College, Kinesiology/Physical Therapy

Aemelia Price – McMinnville, for University of Oregon, Pre-Med/Optometry

Paige Stilp – Newberg, Biola University, Nursing/Nurse Anesthetist

Including 2024 scholarships, an impressive $370,400 has been invested in student scholarships over the past two decades. This substantial investment highlights the dedication of the Guild volunteers in supporting the education and career development of future health care professionals.
