The Three Musketeers - friendship, strength and giving back
October 17, 2025
Have you ever walked into a room and instantly felt like you belonged—like the people you just met had been part of your story all along? That’s exactly what happened when I met Donna, Janis, and Sharon. I came expecting to hear about their breast cancer journeys, but what I found was something far deeper: a bond forged through resilience, laughter, and unwavering support.
Each of these remarkable women—spunky, wise, compassionate, and fiercely strong—found their way to McMinnville after countless visits to what they fondly call a “Hallmark movie town from the 1950s.” They came to retire, but more importantly, to give back. Between them, they’ve touched countless lives through their involvement in organizations like Soroptimist, With Courage, the McMinnville Chamber, the Elks, and many more. It was through Soroptimist that their friendship truly blossomed.
Over the next three weeks, we’ll share their unique stories—how each faced diagnosis and treatment, leaned on family and friends, and emerged with a powerful commitment to serve others. Their journeys are a testament to resilience, community, and the healing power of connection. And together, they remind us that healing is not just about medicine—it’s about love, friendship, and the strength we find in each other.
