WVMC Welcomes First Baby of 2026
January 06, 2026
Willamette Valley Medical Center (WVMC) is celebrating the arrival of the first baby of the new year! Born at 9:35pm on January 2, Baby Alexander measured 20 inches. Proud parents are thrilled to welcome their little one into the world.
“This year, 2026, God blessed us with the birth of our sixth baby.” said Eduardo, proud dad. “My wife and I are very happy and grateful to God and Willamette Valley Medical Center here in McMinnville. “They have very attentive staff, and all of our children have been born here. Our experiences have been similar to those of the other babies who were also born here. Thank you, Willamette Hospital. Thank you to all the staff and thank you for your care.”
Comprehensive Care for Growing Families
WVMC’s Family Birthing Center is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents across the region. Our center offers private birthing suites where mothers can labor, deliver, and recover in one comfortable space—keeping families together during this special time.
We also provide a wide range of services and resources to support families before, during, and after birth:
- Childbirth Education Classes - In-person and online classes taught by skilled educators help parents feel prepared for birth and beyond. Register between 22–36 weeks of pregnancy.
- Special Delivery Program - A postpartum initiative designed to reduce maternal complications and improve health outcomes for new mothers.
- Discharge Meal - A complimentary meal for new families, including lasagna, French bread, salad, cheesecake, and sparkling cider—making the transition home a little easier.
- 24/7 Lactation Support - International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants are available by phone or in person to assist with breastfeeding questions and challenges.
- Mom’s Group - A welcoming community for mothers to share experiences, find support, and build friendships.
