Willamette Valley Medical Center Achieves Perfect Scores in State Radiation and Mammography Audits
March 31, 2026
Willamette Valley Medical Center (WVMC) recently awarded a score of “zero items of non-compliance” (a perfect score) during its annual State of Oregon Radiation Protection Services inspection and Mammography MQSA/FDA audit. These audits are among the most rigorous regulatory reviews healthcare facilities undergo to ensure the highest standards of patient and employee safety, regulatory compliance, and best practices in radiation use. Scores confirm WVMC’s commitment to safe and affective patient care.
Audit Highlights:
- Radiation Safety: The survey verified the proper operation and dosing accuracy of all imaging equipment, including CT scanners and X-ray units, as well as the effectiveness of employee safety protocols, safe patient and employee exposures, appropriate oversight and monitoring of the radiation safety program, and compliance with regulations.
- Mammography Quality: The MQSA/FDA audit praised the Breast Center’s clinical metrics, cancer detection rates, and patient follow-up processes. It also confirmed compliance with FDA and American College of Radiology (ACR) requirements.
- Leadership: Surveyors highlighted the leadership of new Breast Center Supervisor Mindi Reed for the program’s exceptional organization, as well as the consistent track record and proactive approach of the radiation protection program at WVMC.
"Achieving perfect outcomes on surveys of this depth underscores our commitment to patient safety and high-quality diagnostic care," said Webster Cass, Director of Radiology.
