UnitedHealthcare Patient Notice

As a valued patient of Willamette Valley Medical Center, we want to inform you of important changes that may impact your access to care and services at our hospital.
For the past several months, we have been working to establish a new agreement with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) that protects our patients’ and community’s access to in-network care. Unfortunately, UHC has been unwilling to finalize a fair agreement that acknowledges our rising costs and has terminated its current contract with our health system and providers.
This means that if a new agreement is not reached and the current contract expires, Willamette Valley Medical Center will be out of network with UHC plans beginning July 1, 2026, and our Willamette Valley clinics and providers will follow on July 30, 2026.
If you want to remain in network with our hospital, clinics and providers, you may want to consider the following:
- Call UnitedHealthcare. Using the number on the back of your insurance card, call and let UHC know how important it is for you to have continued in-network access to Willamette Valley Medical Center, its clinics and providers.
- Patients with a UHC Medicare Advantage plan will have the option to switch plans or return to traditional Medicare during open enrollment.
- Patients with a UHC commercial plan should speak with your HR or benefits manager at work. Ask them about alternative or secondary coverage options that will ensure in-network access to your local hospital and its providers.
In the event we go out of network with UHC, patients who are pregnant, receiving treatment for a special condition or have a procedure scheduled after the termination date may qualify for continuity of care and should call UHC to learn more about their continuity of care benefits.
We continue to work towards a solution and hope that a new contract can be finalized soon as we want everyone to have easy and affordable access to the healthcare provider of their choice.
