Willamette Valley Medical Center has earned a Five-Star Rating from Healthgrades for hip fracture treatment in 2027, marking the hospital’s third consecutive year receiving this recognition, from 2025 through 2027.

The recognition reflects the work of physicians, nurses and clinical teams across the hospital who focus every day on safe, coordinated and compassionate care. Healthgrades bases its hospital ratings on patient outcomes, including risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates, rather than surveys or reputation.
“These ratings are meaningful because they are rooted in patient outcomes,” said Dewane Pace, FACHE, CEO of Willamette Valley Medical Center. “They reflect the skill, consistency and dedication our teams bring to every patient. We are proud to provide this level of care here at home for the people of McMinnville, Yamhill County and the surrounding region.”
For the 2023-2025 study period, patients receiving hip fracture treatment at hospitals rated five stars had, on average, a 50.9% lower risk of experiencing an in-hospital complication than patients treated at one-star hospitals.*
Healthgrades evaluates approximately 4,500 short-term acute care hospitals nationwide across more than 30 common procedures and conditions. Its 2027 analysis found that, if all hospitals had performed at the level of five-star-rated hospitals during the study period, an estimated 227,229 lives could have been saved and 158,138 complications could have been avoided.*
“Finding a hospital that excels in a given procedure or treatment can transform a patient’s health trajectory,” said Alana Biggers, MD, MPH, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “We’re proud to recognize Willamette Valley Medical Center for its top-tier performance in hip fracture treatment, and commend its team for delivering exceptional patient outcomes when it matters most.”
